So that's 14 so far this series. Certainly Swann hasn't covered himself with glory although in fairness a couple of those chances were pretty tough. Prior has only dropped one catch despite having a far from pristine series with the gloves.
Would be interesting if impossible to find out how our catches:drops ratio has changed over time, and how it compares against other Test nations, so that we know what the benchmark is.
Out of those 14, 5 are described by CricInfo as being tough chances, so we're running at an average of 2 dropped catches per Test which should have been taken. That does seem quite high...
Always surprised Trott never appears in the slip cordon to the fast men. He seems to be as good as any in that area and is only an average outfielder. I seem to remember a Warwickshire fan on here some time ago saying he was always rated really highly as a slip at Edgbaston?
Was it Kim? He rates all of Warwickshire everywhere.
It worked for Ashley Giles...

Catches win matches
We missed 16 the bowlers only took a total of 55 wickets.
Oh if only we had held all our chances on the first day..........
A stat came up today re Cook
96 catches 52 drops 64.86%
Wish they would have stats for all players.
Good idea for England's fielding coach to be a sub when someone goes off. How long before some team complains about that?
I couldn't find any dropped catches in the 1st Test.
