The "Alex Hales for England" Thread

You know it makes sense.

Petarea 15th September 2010 10:43

I think you have confused Alex Hales with Paul Franks.

Edit: (otherwise known as 'The Balls')

Minor Maggie 15th September 2010 20:36

Has Franks played ODI cricket for England?

He has. Might only have been one match. Think he got injured just after and he was never the same after. Well until this season at least, although by christ have we endured some dross from him in the mean time. Still, I'd open up with him again next season :)

Yes but this thread isn't about that old codger. It's about the young rising star who is about to become a legend for his country.

Gilo's Doosra 16th September 2010 13:21

So with Freddie's retirement....... Is Paul Franks the obvious successor?!

Aidan11 12th July 2011 19:19

130* today.

Minor Maggie 12th July 2011 20:35

When is the Ben Stokes for England thread starting?

Psyduck 12th July 2011 20:55

When he recovers from his finger injury.

Both will almost certainly play in the T20 games versus the West Indies at the end of the summer.

Steve James wrote the other day that there are doubts over his ability against spin.

Hales

Given that Luke Wells and Ben Stokes are both younger and have hit more Championship hundreds this season than Hales has first class hundreds in his career, count me as sceptical for now.

I'm with you on this one. Besides our shower of a batting line-up can't afford to lose him.

Aidan11 7th August 2011 14:38

Indeed - the days of local pride in having a player selected for England are long long gone.
