The Durham Thread

Martyn Moxon has resigned as coach. Although no official reason is given the rumours are he's going back to Yorkshire.

Geoff Cook has been appointed to replace him.

daz 1st March 2007 18:08

Is that Geoff Cook of Northants fame

Aidan11 1st March 2007 18:10

Yes

Creamy Goodness 1st March 2007 18:14

Is Mark Davies on the comeback trail?

Aidan11 1st March 2007 18:32

Not heard anything but I hope he'll be ready at the start of the season.

I wonder how long he'll last this time. Dear, dear, he really is the Darren Anderton of the cricket world.

Rey 12th April 2007 20:09

The Guardian county preview mentioned he was fit

Aidan11 12th April 2007 20:29

He has the potential to be an England bowler and hopefully he has not lost anything once he's back in the side again.

Any more news on Mark Davies anyone?

Rey 16th April 2007 14:05

As I mentioned, he's meant to be fit. He played in a warm-up match against us a couple of days ago

Found it!

That scorecard's in more detail than the one on the Yorks site. What a dynamic opening pair we have.....

I think a lot of people haven't yet clocked onto how formidable the Durham pace attack is going to be at the start of the season. Onions, Davies, Harmison, and Thorp are (presumably) the starting seamers, and that's a damn fearsome line-up in early season conditions

Aidan11 17th April 2007 08:56

As long as they are all fit they should be awesome.

So Plunkett can't get in the side?

Rey 17th April 2007 10:49

I assume he'd play when gets back, either at the expense of Thorp or Davies

Aidan11 17th April 2007 11:46

Never used to like Thorp but he had a good season last year. Gibson did a great job as well.
