Very pleased for him, especially after the way he's been treated since first selection.
Not getting too carried away about his international one day credentials after just one match, though, and the opposition having to chase 400+ should raise all sorts of caveats.
I'm just annoyed the England set up messed him round yet again
and forced him to have to come out and score international runs and then have to bowl to international batters in a format he clearly is not suited to. He most certainly should have been playing infront of two men and a dog bowling against the quality batting line ups in county cricket. It's vital he learns to bowl on wearing pitches afterall, rather than representing his country infront of 20,000 in a cauldron of atmosphere against WC finalists and gaining confidence with match winnings displays against the worlds best with both bat and ball. I doubt he learnt or proved anything from preventing an international line up attempting to target him from being able to do so, dismissing several in the process, not to mention what a waste that match turning innings was. Horribly messed around, typical ECB.
Anyone would think he were selected on the basis of actually being a more than handy one day interntional prospect.
