Warne often refers to not being made captain when he's giving interviews. Quite a few of the players he played with are always saying what a great captain he would have made. If he had been captain instead of Ponting, I think results would have been pretty much the same. It would have been hard to lose matches with that team. I suppose the argument is that a batsman is a better captain as they are not going to be tempted to bowl themselves. Would Warne have over bowled himself if he was skipper? I think he had a quite a good understanding of the game and Clarke said he learnt a lot from him, although you wouldn't expect him to say anything different as Warne spent most of his time in the commentary box praising his captaincy skills.
