I have to agree Sharky. It's all well and good leaving him out of the touring party because he needs time to develop but if he's in the top three spin bowlers in the country he should be picked on merit. I've never really been of the opinion that an early taste of international cricket can ruin a players long term development - quite the opposite in fact.
I also agree with your comments about Keedy - he would be a useful back up if anything happened to Monty but I wouldn't want to see them both in the same team. However, I have a feeling the selectors will plump for someone with better batting ability - Gareth Batty and Graeme Swan could be under consideration.
