It's probably because they are such a bunch of no-names taking part, that their own coach doesn't know who they are.

I find it highly unlikely that Cricket Ireland would decline to partake on the basis that playing 50 over cricket would be better preparation for international 50 over cricket, as if that is the case would not the ECB have ensured that England's stars played 50 over cricket?
