Glad he made it - and in such fairytale style, too.

The highest wicket-taker who is still playing has less than half of Murali's wickets!

Well done Murali. An excellent spinner and a outstanding gentleman to boot.

for me hes provided great entertainment over the years - always interesting to watch and a great trier who always seemed to enjoy what he was doing - he also played with a smile on his face, whilst remaining a fierce competitor even though I cant remember an opponent or teammate ever saying a bad word about him.
His 800 test victims will never be surpassed |

Shame you can't accept what he has achieved, at least he played and the left the game with a smile, for what he faced during his career he had a tremendous amount of mental strength and self belief and carried his business about in a respectful manner. |

A real shame he didn't finish on a Bradmanesque 799, but well done Sri Lanka, and definitely well done Murali.

I wouldn't worry about it. His achievements will long outlast the blind critics. Many greats had their controversies, which are rarely spoken of when looking at the records.

I'd never expect an Australian to claim Murali above Warne though, then again they still think they're the best team in the world. ![]()

Not necessarily. I also think Warne was better and I despise him and very much dislike Aus. I think Murali is a great guy. It's got nothing to do with loyalties.

He wasn't even the best drummer in The Beatles either.
