Yes Newell is the manager, SO ITS HIS ****ING RESPONSIBILITY TO FIND US AN ACTUAL ****ING OPENER, HE HAS HAD LONG ENOUGH!!

Fair play to Franks for stepping in, but if anything, it should be Wagh put in there, he is usually in by the 2nd over of the day anyway and thus is practically an opener as it is.

Patel is not, nor will be and he was looking for form. Form which wont be found by yoyo'ing him up and down the order to paper over the big crack of Newell being UNABLE TO FIND US A ****ING OPENER!!
Yeah i would have gone with wagh, and i fully agree newell should have got in a decent opener in the 5 years he's had

the point i am trying to get over (not very well) Patel cannot tell the manager where he wants to bat - once this happens other players will start saying this and that and newell will have lost the dressing room.

Good managers never let players decide whos playing, and in what position

45/0. We've quite literally won a session.

And surpassed our previous highest opening partnership of the season (43). Lol.

Samit as thrown a massave wobbly (not doing star jumps) regarding opening the batting basically downing tools if he has to open. To his credit Franksy stuck his hand up, and said ill do it, and got 2 ducks for his troubles.

Sidgate has divided the club, Read not happy at all with it. Fletch has been told to loose a few KGs for next season or he wont make it, Samits piled it on again also

Spinner issues, White thought he may get a chance by now.

Jet rap this fookin CC up and lets sort it out.

This was obvious from the stands as I went with my mate to see this Day 1. Didn't look interested at all. Fear he could be off next season.

Pattinson's been wayward since being dropped for the T20. Fletcher looked very ordinary and needs to work hard if he's to become a regular. Adams and Franks bowled well but with no frontline spinner to take wickets we had to rely on them.

Game's not gone yet, in the reserve fixture we bowled them out cheaply and bulit a big lead and they batted out the match with help from the rain.

It's a good fightback this, but if we can score on this wicket now, so can they! Would still prefer torrential rain for the next 2 days.

Franks out, well batted.

Still 18 behind though. Get through until tea at 3.25pm and let Voges play himself in. We still need another two 100+ partnerships and can't afford to be more than 4 down at the close.

£150,000 to the club and £400,000 to the players

It was my question.

Must be a windfall of at least £25k to each regular player then. No wonder they're showing a bit of fight today.

Well congrats to Paul "The Balls" Franks for that knock after his previous opening struggles and for offering to bat there in the first place.
