A commentator in the game today slipped out that Cobb had agreed a deal with Northants, though quickly then said "nothing official yet".

Hearing Cobb will sign with Leicestershire for another year this week and Levi to re-sign for Northants in all three competitions. Cant say I'm enthused about either.

Alex Gidman off to Worcestershire then - good signing but odd move if Worcestershire do balls up promotion.

Gloucestershire don't half lose some players.

I wonder if Bracewell considers that Worcestershire are 'parasites' too?

Speaking to Geoff Cook today they may released Mark Wood from Durham. He rates him but the kid has had an operation and maybe one too many bowlers on the books type deal.

He'd be a fantastic signing for any county, can only dream of him joining Leicestershire.

Mark Wood would have been a far better signing for Lancs than Buck..

I seriously doubt this, he's their best young bowler!

That's what I thought, an England Lion in Sri Lanka too. Maybe I miss heard but OI asked him if he had any spare bowlers and he said MW. Maybe the operation didn't go well or something. Ill find out more tomorow.

LOL here we go again. Geoff Cook is quite available regularly at the Riverside and other grounds where he is needed. Always wanders around the ground and often has a chat. He can be quite open about certain things too...but only to those he knows and trusts wont blab.

Too many bowlers on the books? The keen cricket observer will note that Rushworth has been without his main new ball partner for most of this season. In fact it is debateable as to whether we will ever see the best of Onions again (although he has been written off before). Our overseas bowler is about to leave and we have had to hurriedly replace him with...another bowler (Varun Aaron). Breese has been released although admittedly he is a spinner. Borthwick (another spinner) has yet to put pen to paper for a new deal. Stokes now has a central contract so we wont know how much we'll see of him. We have had to call on the services of Peter Chase but he is contracted to Ireland so we don't have first call on him. Arshad is coming back from injury. At a recent members forum it was confirmed that Colly can't bowl much these days. There are other second XI bowlers but they aren't really looking the part at present.

So that leaves two bowlers - Mark Wood and Jamie Harrison. Jamie is destined to spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch which is a shame as he is a frightening bowler when he is fit. Wood is reliable and dependable but has also had bad luck with injury. He is earmarked as the next top bowler at the club. We want to hang on to him as he has huge potential.

Cookie can be a bit mischievous and maybe sensing you are a wannabe hack, fed you a nice little line. You weren't by any chance the one who bought the story that Mick Jagger was going to buy Yorkshire CCC a few years back are you?

Northampton is his second home! As I said. I asked him, he replied! But I'm glad you **** that big lump of condescension so you feel better.

Aidan's comments actually seem to have some basis and reason rather than assumption and conjecture.
