Yeah Archer is looking good, Mills struggling though.

4-0-15-3 and a sensational boundary catch. He is rapidly becoming one of the stars of the tournament.

At this rate he's going to get snapped up for the IPL and Sussex will lose him for part of the season!!

Don't know why they don't give him more of a role with the bat, though. He was carded to come in at 7 today but despite the situation looking ideal for his power hitting he didn't come out. But yes, absolutely superb bowling, especially the final over.

4-0-15-3 econ 3.75 considering he is fairly new to T20s. Amazing!

Another decent effort today in changing the momentum of the innings. His first 2 overs went for 24 with McCullum doing his usual. But his final two (including last over off innings) were 2-8. Instead of chasing over 190, Hobart now have just 166 to get.

I fear his performances in the BBL mean he will almost certainly get picked up by an IPL franchise.

Why's that a problem unless you're a Sussex fan?

I'm hoping he develops into an all-format cricketer for England. At this stage of his career I feel his interests (and England's) would be best served by first class cricket.

My only worry would be his lack of time in the middle with the bat, he'll still get to play FC cricket at the end of the season and will no doubt learn a lot from playing with the best players in the world rather than being stuck in Div 2 in early season conditions even if it's playing pyjama cricket.

He needs to spend a certain amount of the year in England to be able to qualify too. I'm not sure how many days he can miss but it must be a consideration.

He has to be resident in England for 210 days up to the 31st of March so the IPL wouldn't effect him this year as it starts in April but he'd probably have to skip either the BPL or BBL next season.

It's ok, the Sussex top order have been doing stirling work ensuring this is not an issue!!

Another sensational death bowling spell from Archer - when he came on to bowl the 18th over the Strikers were 170-0, at the end of it they were 172-2, including a sensational run out from him and a bowled. Just taken another 2 wickets in the final over so overs 18 and 20 were 3-7 for Archer (4 really given the run out was all his work).

He's clearly the best death bowler in this competition (inswinging yorkers are like Flintoff at his best) and I'd be amazed if the IPL Teams don't fight hard to get his signature (unfortunately for us Sussex fans).

Has he submitted himself for the IPL? I assumed he has but haven't actually seen it mentioned.

Every man and his dog seems to by the numbers given by the IPL but I can't find a copy of the list sent out to the IPL teams so can't confirm.

number 81 - a West Indies all rounder, as we know he isn't qualified for England.

I have a worry that Archer will become too much of a league commodity, touring across the various t20 leagues and lose his development in the longer form. England need a genuine quick bowler for their test side more than anything.

There is a huge part of me that wishes he would just go and tear it up for the West Indies.

But if he wants to wait and qualify for England, that's his prerogative.
