I wondered if it was something to do with his English connections. I was aware of the essentially political ban on other Pakistani players. Shame.

So 19yo, 20yo and 23yo captain, all domestic players, are the stars for Delhi today, although the game has been curtailed by rain.

Meanwhile, in Hampshire...

3 half centuries in a row for Jos opening the batting for RR. Apparently his strike rate in the power play this season is close to 200 compared to a little over 100 outside the power play. Curious. Stokes continues to have a shocker.

Not sure he's a great manipulator of spin in t20, especially once the ball goes softer and field restrictions disappear. That had been an issue for him in previous editions of the IPL while with Mumbai.

Buttler and Stokes played their parts in getting Rajasthan into the playoffs, with an opportunity against Kolkata to reach a qualifier for the Final.

Of course, neither will play any further part in this year’s tournament because of their other commitment.

Finishing 4 wickets down but losing by 25 runs in a relatively low-scoring match. Strange effort by the Royals today.
