"IF" kevin Dean is fit, thats one hell of an if which is a real shame because when he is fully fit he probably still is our best control bowler, having had to change after injuries took a toll on him being the very good strike bowler that he was.

Clare will still get his chances this year, he did enought to impress last year and there is bound to be injuries and a bit of rotatation.

well we have Durham 69/8, but why Hunter is playing is beyond me when you have Clare available. I'm guessing Lungely is being rested.

Robbie Williams, another promising Middx bowler, having a go at your top order. Rogers and Stubbings out cheaply

Didn't realise he was still around. I remember when he was our most promising bowler at Durham. It was around the time Nicky Peng was considered the same but for batting.

I didn't realise that Williams was at uni. Saw him last season bowling some balls at 90mph. Finn and Williams will make a good opening pair for the future for Middx.

I caught him on the telly getting absolutely destroyed by...Derbyshire.

It was mostly at the hands of two Aussies though so not a truly fair yardstick.

He's only played 5 first class games. Just turned 21. I would prefer watching him bowl than Richardson though, even if he is wild and woolly.

You're just in it for the rockstar name. Not all of us can have REM as our initials.

A better day after the sad times of yesterday, even though our bowlers were churning out 4 balls for fun this morning.

Good to see Rogers hitting his straps early, losing his AUS contract could be a blessing in disguise as he is determined to prove himself. Impressed to hear Telo batted well, he definetly needs to make a good start.

I expect this game to be gone by lunch, Pipe seems to lack scores in situations like this and that just leaves Wagg to support Clarke. Its all up to Rik though, he has been our standout player in pre season and runs here would be very useful.

To be fair to your bowlers today was the best day for batting because today only the 8 wickets for 331 runs fell, and also to be fair yes you know doubt bowled quite poorly at times this morning, but Adshead and Lewis are no mugs with the bat.

You also applied yourself well today, 235/4 is a good score and at 196/2 I was starting to panic about Gloucestershire losing the game potentially.

Fred Klokker hit a 100 yesterday for the seconds against Lancs, also 4 wickets for Jon Clare in the first innings.

What's with the shaven head look and Derbyshire players? I'm sure I must have seen at least two wandering in and out of the members bar who looked more like nightclub bouncers! Any ideas who they were?

At one stage Clarke had bowled 20 overs and the other hadn't even got into double figures. He really does rate himself. I think Wagg is a better bowler and should open with Lungley with Clare first change THEN Clarke.

Clare's career figures look quite nice so far -
3rd f/c game 13 wickets at 18.69

Clare third highest score at the moment. It must be exciting for him having Andre Nel bowl at him.
