Not a single one of the potential batsman looks like a number three, though, which is an issue. Livingstone is the only one who bats there for his county, I believe.

Malan has actually played some nice shots here. Who knew he had it in him...

England in serious danger of losing this match as Malan nibbles behind.

No hanging around this morning from these two. It has been reminiscent of an old-style Aussie counterattack as the method to handle an early collapse.

Edit: And sure enough as I write that Malan nicks off. Maybe he didn't flash hard enough?

Odds on England win so odd I risked 30 to get 200 if Draw or W.Indies win. Weather , state of match and England batting last made it too tempting.

Surely not MORE rain in London. Lord's needs to be stripped of test status if they can't guarantee 5 days of glorious weather.

Aggers interviewing Theresa May on TMS. Ugh, excruciating stuff like fingernails on a blackboard.

Talks sense actually. May as well get onto politics as it's raining.

I realise I've strayed with my above post but shall we keep the politics out of this thread at least please?

Can't stand Aggers these days, he's becoming quite out of touch with the game as he only seems to turn up to Tests. He blocked me on twitter when I pointed this out as part of the Bangladesh tour. I don't think he watches any County Cricket at all, which for the BBC Cricket correspondent is shocking.

The thought of him interviewing May was as nauseating a couple as I could imagine and I turned off before it reached that moment.

I'd be very surprised if there was any more play today. Hopefully in better weather tomorrow our middle order can conjure up a healthy lead.

It's a minefield. Cricket issues are bad enough.

Anyway my 30 to get 200 if England don't win looks vaguely good.

It'll be interesting to see the approach of Stokes, Bairstow and Mo when they get back on. With conditions so far in favour of the bowlers I think it makes sense to be positive. A lead of even 50 runs could be invaluable.

Agreed. And suits their natural styles in any case.
