I still can't imagine you will get too excited then, Jock?

It probably has to happen tonight though, if England are to get back into this series.

You should know better than to criticise a non white player and give them a nickname. Or maybe it was mentioning pies in a post as sometimes pies contain pork.

Either way you should be ashamed of yourself you filthy nazi.

England still can't get Smith out.

This is where you you need a wild Harmison to draw blood like the 2005 Ashes series with Ponting.

There's no English bowler with the pace to rattle them like a Devon Malcolm.

Even a Bob Willis circa 81 would be handy right now.

It's all way too friendly fast medium pace.

Or perhaps a slow bowler who gives it some rip..?

Credit me with that wicket, medium pace on a good length with extra bounce, a Jacob Oram style dismissal, I picked it a mile away.

Less pace the better.

Plenty before have done that and not looked remotely threatening when given a go at test level. As GBG knows, a typical example of a tall bowler of a similar pace looking rather innocuous at test level was Tim Munton.

The fun that we used to have winding Kim up about him.
Did Munton ever dismiss the best batsman in the world in an ashes test?

Well in craig

Pretty handy first test scalp for Overton. He has been much better than Woakes today IMO.

Ronnie Irani would be bowling more threatening stuff than Woakes.

One more wicket before close would be most welcome, but with Smith gone England should be feeling more optimistic they can knock over the remaining batsmen and Paine. Not the results they would have hoped for when putting them in to bat though.

I think we all know this England team has limitations. However Broad and Anderson. Your our senior bowlers FFS. Why are they incapable of bowling a decent length? If they aren't doing this then it's time to look to actively procure their replacement. Have they possibly become to comfortable in their positions??? Not impressed.
