The AJ documentary looked very damning for England. The programme makers made a pretty compelling case and I wouldn’t have been as gung ho as Root in his outrageousness.

Yes - apart from no evidence to actually name anybody it’s an open and shut case - nudge nudge wink wink..

Far from it, as they’ve given the names to the authorities. It was only a matter of time before England got caught too.

If the supposed fix was to do with scoring rate don't see how it could be proved(or disproved for that matter).

Surely the evidence needed would have to be a trail of communications or credible witnesses between the bookies and the players? What is seen to occur on the pitch can be little better than circumstantial.

They had no evidence- just winks. Anything to up the profile of the documentary.

The entire thing sounds like a big con. I thought ALJA was supposedly a credible new source, aside from all the anti-Israel propaganda?

That's the: 'apart from that Mrs Lincoln, how much did you enjoy the play' comment, isn't it?

Well I think England would be robbing someone blind if they were paid to perform badly!

Three Hong Kong players have been charged with match fixing allegations, relating to games at the 2016 World T20 and qualifiers for the 2015 WC.

I guess this may be one of the stories already emmentioned, but the article/level of detail is new to me:

https://www.cricingif.com/news/23574...tfixing-report

Quote:
The matches in which fixes were allegedly carried out include:

England versus India at Lord's Cricket Ground (2011)

South Africa versus Australia in Cape Town (2011)

Several matches during England's series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates (2012)

The files available suggest that the suspected fixes were usually carried out by batsmen who agreed to underperform.

Some of the world's most famous players were batting when the fixes allegedly occurred.

Many of the matches appear to include multiple fixes, making a total of 26 fixes in the 15 matches.

Seems to be all smoke and no fire from Al J.

Won’t hand over evidence to ICC - until they do it’s just smears.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cricket/...olf-says-mark/

"The Professional Cricketers’ Association joined the England & Wales Cricket Board in criticising the documentary and Telegraph Sport understands that a former England cricketer is now considering suing the broadcaster over what he claims is a “fake” recording of a phone call with a match-fixing mastermind"
