I've never actually parked there how much is it?

Bhuwaneshwar Kumar makes his return from injury vs South Africa 'A'. Hopefully the others can keep the series alive if he returns for the 5th Test.

Is winning the series that big a deal for India ? Surely itís all about how many runs Kohli scores and whether he wins a battle vs Jimmy.

Looks like Woakes is injured so Curran may well slot in as a like for like.

Vince released by England

Vaughan saying Root should bat at 4 like all the best batsman. Weren't they recently saying Root should bat at 3 like all the best batsmen?

Mooen Ali to replace Pope and Curran for Woakes the only changes. Woakes has a thigh problem.

What ? Didn’t get enough runs so we ditch a batsman for a journeyman bowler that slogs a bit. Building for the future sacrificed for the never was dolt that failed miserably in he Ashes.

Selectors have lost the plot. Knee jerk to the max.

I don't mind Moeen coming back in, but it surely had to be at the expense of Rashid. It's like Rashid is now undroppable because of the way he was recalled. It will be interesting to see who bowls the most overs, seems to me that Root has little faith in his Yorkshire team mate.

Feel sorry for Pope, suggested enough to me that he had a future in this team and hopefully still can.

Cricinfo is largely written for the Indian audience - anything Kohli related gets lapped up.

Have you noticed far you have to scroll across the scores now to find the County Cricket. I'm not sure who STKNP or GAW are but they appear before Essex v Hants!!

Better for Pope to be left out now rather than bat at 4 and be left to have his confidence ruined. Could have come in at 6 with Bairstow at 4, but Moeen is a better test batsman at this stage and also offers a bowling option. Building for the future doesn’t mean shoehorning in rough, talented players players to roles they have never played before - despite, of course Smith’s “golden touch” that cricinfo like drooling over as much as they do the Kohli/Anderson nonsense. Pope has shown glimpses of his promise and will probably be well-served for his experience but equally was patently some way from being ready to be a test 4 behind such a shaky top order.

Completely agree. Surely it is a better bet to pick vince than adil. We donít need two spinners so if moeen plays for his batting then drop the guy who has picked up a few tail Enders, people slogging and kohli just before his ton. Rashid has hardly bowled and we need runs.

It is weird that we have everyone a spot higher than they like when moeen is 7 and likes 3. It feels like an easy one to solve!

Ah yes, Moeen was a success when he faced the new ball before. Let's try it again.

Who cares? He'll pretty much be opening.

Seems unfair on Oli Pope to discard him already. We don't need two spinners. And Moeen gets re-selected on the back of one innings? Bizarre. Has his game improved since we last saw him destroyed by Aussies?

Moeen got re-selected on the back of a double ton and a 6fer in a FC match. Slightly more than the one ODI delivery that Rashid got picked for.

Pope could easily have batted at 6 now they've been forced to dispense with Bairstow's gloves (here's hoping that's permanent).
