Which makes you wonder how many more no balls he's bowled that haven't been checked.

England to lose this series 3-2

Root isn’t currently in the top 5 batsmen in this team never mind the world.

You have been watching our other batsman right? Even if it was my preferred current method from behind a solid object peering through my fingers!

Well I thought Bairstow could have opened instead of Jennings I guess the England management had the same idea...

Edit: So Baitstows first go at "opening" didn't go too well now to try Stokes at #3!

The decision wasn't wrong, it's the technique which is.

Not a bad start, eh! Really nice to see our seamers stepping up. Btw, I think this is the innings where Cook will perform, score a 100 and stay in the team for another year.

As much as the England fans on here will have a go at the English batting technique this is some excellent bowling from Indias quicks.

We've missed Bumrah. And are still missing Bhuwaneshwar- can't say I was ever worried about the bowling though.

Incredible selections given we were skittled out for 160 last test.

The batting needed changed and reinforced. Instead we’ve brought in another bowler.

Cook is finished. Regardless of the rest. He’s had it. Being as stubborn as he is he’ll have to be dropped.

Hungry for runs...

More batting like they've got the runs and need to get back to the dressing room quick.

Glad I'm away for a few days and missing this one.

A team struggling for runs picks just 3 specialist batsmen - one not test standard and 2 horribly out of form.

Bonkers.

I can't disagree with that. If you're going to bring Moeen in then put him at 3 (his County position), then all others (including Root) can bat in the position they're most comfortable in.

Jennings has shown very clearly that he was in no frame of mind to be playing Test Cricket.

Their seems to be little common sense being applied.
