Too many clichés. India aren’t bowling badly at all, haven’t done all day. It’s just the easiest first session condition-wise of the series.

It’s very easy to say they’ve finished and there’s no pressure. Many of the players know they need a performance.

Agreed. Bumrah in particular is getting it to hoop both ways.

the second chance was hard. Trouble is they always show them in slow motion where they always look easy.

if Malan or Jennings had dropped those they would already be metaphorically hanging from a lampost outside the Archbishop Tennyson School.

They shouldn't be in the team, first of all. Secondly, if Indians are dropping catches, we'll have some lampposts ready here once they come back.

No comments thus far about Moeen Ali's innings? Is that the longest by a No. 3 this English summer?

Both players are playing and missing an awful lot but they're playing sensibly and not getting fazed by it.

Moeen vs shami is amusing at the moment. He can’t get near it. However, this is what Freddie used to do. Looks great beating the bat ball after ball but needs to pitch it up a tiny bit to get the edge.

If announcing his retirement has had this effect, perhaps he should have done so at the start of the series.

Did I hear right that this was the first half-century of the series by an opening batsman?
