If the wickets are real bunsens, as some have suggested, not sure how much bowling the 2nd choice leg spinner will get?

I expect the spinners to get plenty of bowling, but I still don't see three spinners being picked.

If they're real bunsens which they probably will be you'd hope that Sri Lanka wouldn't be batting for that long.

I hope England have been talking to Nigel Llong who was umpiring at the recent SL v SA series.

One might ask if they don't believe in his bowling how did he get selected?!?
With Rashid getting a central contract I'd say there is no chance of that happening.

I agree. Not sure why Denly was selected though?

Getting Buttler first ball recently in the T20 QF might have helped!

To be honest, he would not have been picked on batting alone. But given that the main two spinners need to be tight (Leach, Ali) can see him getting picked as the third. Of course if Stokes and Anderson is enough seam bowling then Rashid can play too.
Iím in favour of all rounders but one season doesnít tell you all that much about a bowler, especially a part timer. Those are decent figures but 23 really isnít many wickets so thereís a serious problem with sample size. If heís been picked thinking about his spin bowling anything like as much as his batting then itís a pretty horrible pick.

He'll do well. If he plays.

ďIf it means opening batters bat in a more one-day fashion long term I donít think that is a bad thing for the game,Ē he said. ďIt makes for exciting viewing.

Good luck. Looking forward to Hazelwood, Starc and Cummins letting that happen.

It's only more exciting if they bat for long enough to make a decent score, otherwise you end up with Tests finishing inside three days.

The most exciting matches are those that produce a tight finish regardless of how many runs are scored or how quickly.

I am fully expecting to wake up to tweets like this over the next few weeks.

A third wicket for England, and a third for Moeen Ali as Kusal Mendis is given out LBW for 22.

Sri Lankan Cricket Board XI move onto 122-3 in the 24th over.

It'll be interesting to see how well we chase. I'm surprised Dawson didn't get a game as well as Mo and Rashid as Woakes looks to have struggled in the conditions again.

Difficult to judge the score until we bat.

Pacemen bowled in burst of 3 overs - a bit of innovation..

Slightly confused by the Woakes struggling again comment. He averages 25 with the ball in Sri Lanka. 14 wickets in 7 matches.
