Love to see more Tests but the white ball games will probably be the more competitive ones so kinda good from that point of view.

How much punishment do you think the West Indies deserve!? One test is probably a test too many.

This seems like the first test not involving England for about a year.

India are motoring!

Bit harsh on Dhawan who had to cope with Anderson and co hooping it round corners and then the teenager gets a flatbed agianst the Windies to start off. Maybe it was planned that way....

Dunno- Dhawan should not have been on the plane to England in the first place IMO- not the Test one anyway.

Shaw makes a debut 100 off 98 balls. He now has centuries on Ranji, Duleep, India A and India debuts.

Arrow

Got this live now on OSN. Would be handy to have venue and dates at start of thread. Looks like 500 plus if Kohli gets going.

Windies had a glimmer at 230 odd for 3 but that's a lot of runs in a day ...

The fickle hand of timing, eh? It's like Pat Pocock constantly getting called up to face the great West Indian sides. He must have thought "Please...just gimmee a couple of Tests against Australia during World Series cricket".

Still beats me how Jajeda played only one Test last summer. Sure, team balance would have been an issue but he just offers so much.

Hopelessly one sided Test. The second Test will be more competitive with Holder and Roach back.

No it won't, but at least Shami has picked up some well deserved wickets.

Yes - perhaps 2 tests are plenty. The continual demise of the Windies isn't great to watch.

I actually think a full strength Windies side would be plenty strong. They badly miss Darren Bravo.

I'm afraid they really wouldn't. They were abysmal away from home even 10-15 years ago when they still had genuinely world class players. This lack of competitiveness is not something new that sticking in a few passable international journeymen like Roach or Bravo would suddenly reverse. .
