Very impressive win for England today against a strong Kiwi team. Great to see Stokes back in the grove too.

No depth in the New Zealand batting. With either Williamson or Taylor out, you're left with hit-and-miss biffers like Munro or de Grandhomme or spuds like Henry Nicholls.

Williamson is back but Taylor is out.

Although you'd have England as favourites now, they've played at the Cake Tin 4 times and lost badly every time (3 v NZ and 1 v SL). It sounds like no one knows what to expect from the wicket - bowling first probably an advantage again.

One of the big problems in cricket is the enormous advantage the flip of a coin gives to a side. After the first match of a series, it should alternate. If a captain loses the toss in the the first game then it would be his choice in the second.

NZ win the toss and choose to bowl, which isn't a surprise considering the talk about no-one know what the pitch is going to do. England change Willey for Wood, still persisting with 6 bowlers and a pedestrian opening 3, Roy apart.

NZ have Williamson back from injury but Taylor is out presumably from the injury he got in the previous game and an unenforced change with Sodhi coming in for Ferguson.

Am not a great fan of Anderson as a ODI player as a rule, but I reckon he would have a field day here. Nasty little ground for batting.

Jimmy or Corey? I'm going to agree if you mean Jimmy which I'm guessing you do!

I like Wood as a pick on this pitch as well although I'd have probably stuck with Willey if we're playing 6 front line bowlers and dropped Curran, better yet to have dropped both and brought in both Hales and Wood.

“Root will be very disappointed”. Nobody else, ever. Would it kill Nasser just once in a while to say “that’s disappointing from Root”?

Well, he's prone to silly brain fades early on, but can destroy if you let him get his eye in. Nowhere near as reliable and effective as Williamson/Taylor.

Vastly better than the spud that is Nicholls.

Game looks in the balance now, Williamson seems the key (rather unsurprisingly).

Excellent collapse this. Maybe there is a place for 35 off 70 balls after all.

I am in bed listening on radio then checking wickets etc on my phone. How was that Roy catch not given out? Clearly hands underneath. Doull not impressed on radio.

That Roy decision could be costly.

I hope this is a good wicket generator.

I really don't get wood. He is not that good is he? Obviously when we were getting smashed during the ashes he was a destructive 93mph speed merchant, but this isn't the case is it?

Our seam bowling is not great is it.

Good to hear Nasser call out Morgan on shockingly defensive fields. Another pet hate of mine. When a team needs 9 they can take one to people in the ring five times and hit one four. 9 is quite easy.
