GOAT Lyon amongst the wickets early. From following the live score/blog, sounds like there's a bit in it for the spinners? Though Amla seems a shadow of his former self these days.

Right on both counts given Maharaj took a Michele earlier.

A snorter from Cummins does for Markram too although he probably could've played it better.

This is bringing back memories of the Ashes. On these kind of pitches the Aussie attack has all bases covered. I hope we've taken note for 2019. If a pitch doesn't have some green in it we may as well not turn up (or the groundsman should be sacked).

Have Cardiff bought one? We know how they like to prepare what England need.

Aus looking good to emulate England and win in saffer land. Oz next big hurdle will be to win an away ashes series which they have not achieved since 2001. Long time.

Aussies get the ball changed even though it was reverse swinging, strange.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!
8/159, good thing is we didnt bat great but our bowlers are good enough to be wrapping up opposition cheaply.
If we can get our batting consistent and humming we will become a very good outfit.

AB showing how not to bat with the tail. Don't let them face a ball, you muppet! Obviously not the sharpest tool in the box and it's cost South Africa big time here. He's faced just one ball while three wickets have fallen.

That's a pretty big "If", You've got an excellent bowling attack, though!

We'll probably get our own back during the 4 tests, but it is nice to show up their pace and spin attack so early in the series. If they werent rattled, they are now. Lower order in particular looked England-esque against the quick stuff.

True, whatever possessed him to accept a single of the penultimate over. Cost them the last 3 wickets.

And he had already taken a single off the first ball from Hazelwood exposing Maharaj, then let Rabada take a second from the first ball of Starc's over. Brainless.

Both Maharaj and Rabada had shown useful batting against India, but they weren't facing reverse swing at 90mph. Philander did well to get an edge on his ball.

de Bruyne doesn't look Test standard, de Kock actually played better before a woeful shot to Lyon. Amla will need to rediscover his old form if SA are to have any chance in this series. Might need to win a few tosses too, but even then it might not be good enough.
