Crikey! No wonder she sounds so lacklustre. What do people see/hear in her? I have to turn off when she's on.

Anyone know where Charlie Dagnall is? I think he's the best commentator around at the moment.

He is doing the county stuff for Sky in the blast.

Thanks for that. I wish I had Sky because I think he's terrific - he can be funny when it's appropriate but knows his stuff too. Broadcasting comes naturally to him. I was hoping he was being groomed to be the next BBC Cricket Correspondent but it's clear that Isa Guha is being lined up for the job.

Dagnall is good on the T20 - future taking over from Bumble?

I hope so. Bumble's style of humour bores me now. It was ok ten years ago, now he just sounds like a grumpy old man.

Yes, when I say future, I'd be happy with immediate future.

Got to be honest, I struggle a bit now with Guha. I have a feeling her stint yesterday was due to be the final part of the match. But within 5 mins she disappeared and was replaced by Nasser. Strong but correct call by the director.

Imagine the brouhaha that would have followed, had it been a chap saying such a thing about a lady commentator!
Well we did have Agnew asking Ebony Rainford-Brent for an expert opinion on Archer's new hairstyle!!

He's managed to get that wrong on two fronts!!

So forgive me if I don't take your opinions on commentators too seriously.
I admire your willingness to challenge D/L but I wonder if it's wasted time on your part and if you'd be better served by putting him on ignore like a lot of the rest of us.

I’ve just been watching the highlights of the World Cup final. I hope Ian Smith is on the commentary team when we play NZ in the winter, he’s exceptional.

Ok, I've done a bit of pruning because the deliberately provocative posting has gone far enough. I had done a bit of private messaging and asked posters to desist. This has clearly not stopped one party. I have taken what is appropriate action.

Depends if the Rugby World Cup is finished by then - he also commentates on that (think he does the pitch side analysis).

But I think it is, so am sure we'll have the likes of him and Doull on again.

Letís hope so. He was really passionate. Although a test ( not test championship) and one day series doesnít carry as much weight as a World Cup final.

Watching the test in the Caribbean might be the first time I've had to suffer Graeme Swann the commentator. I loved watching him as a player, not enjoying listening to him in the box.

He was utterly unbearable. Sky losing pictures from the Caribbean was actually a God send.

On the other hand I hope Tres becomes a permanent fixture on Sky.

I just watch with the sound off most of the time. With all the graphics they show these days you get a lot of additional information that you needed commentators for in the olden days.
