Or he's picked his favourite players he's played with or against.

I'm sure that's the real reason, yes. Even then it's a fairly solidly ridiculous list though.

Its the best team for players he's been on the pitch with. It's the order that the strangest. Anderson at 9, Kohli and Sangakarra at six and seven respectively. He could have had Jayawardene at four.

There is simply no room for them higher up the order when have players of the calibre of Bell, Shah and Voges occupying 3-5.

212 posts in and someone finally asks this. Kys could be making it all up as far as we know.

Wasn't it mentioned that this is from some magazine or other?

Magazines are the bottom end. I have to look at them while queueing in the post office. These truly are the last days.

Looking back at the first post, just over two years ago, and most of the team has retired, or are in self imposed exile. It's conceivable that once Khan retires after the Windies series, only the top three will ever play test cricket again.

Which would be a worry as Sangakkara, Khan, de Villiers and Chanderpaul are still their countries' best batsmen.

It's less surprising that two and half years later most of those fast bowlers have succumbed to injury. What was more surprising was how long Steyn managed to play at such a high level for.
