England Player Watch 2013

Just like the Selection Panel Thread it is time for a new thread to point out that the new domestic season is nearly upon us.

Kieswetter and Buttler both scored 46 in a 50-over friendly game against Gloucs. Kieswetter had the gloves.

Gilo was down there to talk to Somerset about the keeping. While he was there Kies scored 91 in front of him in a friendly.

As per my other post. How about Gilo heads to warks and discusses their batting order.

For the two situations to be comparable, England already need to be selecting Woakes and batting him up the order.

Completely disagree. If Kim agrees with me I must be right.

Well, he represented some godless heathen land at junior level but has clearly found salvation at Edgbaston.

Always thought that Birmingham was about as close as you could get to Hades anyway.

Statement of intent from Bopara in his first FC appearance of the season - a golden duck against Cambridge University to follow a swashbuckling 4 in the first innings.

Nope not that Im aware of.

With Rankin and Barker also out, maybe they are trying to give other counties a sniff and keep Div one competitive?

Unlikely scenario (Root fans look away now) -

Flower reads Berry's column on Woakes and thinks that no one has really nailed down that number 6 spot and it might be time to try Woakes there.

With all the cricket coming up Flower thinks having 5 bowlers might take the pressure of the other 3 fast bowlers and less chance of injuries and he won't need to rotate.

Phones Giles who explains that because Woakes opens the bowling for Warks they need to give him a rest down the batting order but would also be fine at 6. Flower then realises that Woakes is playing all Warks games and pulls him out of a few.

20 year old Tom Milnes took 7 for 39 to win the match for warwickshire defending 155. Have you seen any of him kim? (or anybody else?).
only a short FC career thus far but a bowling average of 18, sr 33 and batting average of 27 aren't a bad way to start a career.
