I resent that greatly. I've been boosting my post count with satire and parody. Oh, I suppose I've had the odd row with Death and Sans too but then Kim can't be expected to do all the work on his own.

Ambrose v Mustard can't be a valid thread until they have both played international cricket. Otherwise the comparisons mean nothing.

With Sans I can understand, with Death less so as he has an extremely dry way of humouring the whole thing himself.

I'm not so sure. I think they like Mustard. He wouldn't be opening the batting in the tests.

Yes but he's been pretty dismal. At no point has he shown in either first class or ODI cricket that he's likely to be good enough to get test runs.

I thought they'd decided to go for the wicket-keeping part after Prior.

He did today, however, score 15 from 9 runs, in contrast to Cook's 9 from 24. But I only point this out because I quite like the almost symmetry.

I think they'll want some runs. Otherwise they'd have recalled Read, oh except that he signed up for the ICL. If it hadn't been for that...

Well he scores quickly, he just hardly gets any runs in total.

... the selectors would have found some other excuse not to pick him...

Lets be fair though, not every keeper has the skills of Rod Marsh.

I get the impression they're sweet on Mustard too. With all those wicket keepers on the coaching staff, you'd think they must know a thing or two about wht makes a good keeper.
