To be fair they had to cut some of the ceremony due to the weather.

They were going to have the dog that won BGT, KP and Strauss doing a duet of Cliff Richard's We Dont Talk anymore, and Jedward were going to be...er just Jedward.

You mean to say they'd planned even more of that horror show?

Worst opening to any sports event I've ever seen, in fact I've seen supermarkets opened with a higher standard of performance.

How many supermarket opening ceremonies have you watched, Beefy? I think we should be told.

Sounds like a poor shot from Lyth, failing to adjust to the pace of the pitch. Too bad. England need to make sure they don't gift their wickets away, because it looks like that's going to be the only way they're going to lose them.

Specialist spinner on after 9 overs - good captaincy.

Had Broad and Anderson bowled the lines I've seen this morning they would be hammered by supporters and the press alike. Wasting the new ball? Just a little. Keep going.

Slow with uneven bounce would would be disappointing for a fourth day pitch.

He's copying the tactic Misbah used in the UAE. Hafeez got Cook after 5 overs.

I look forward to Cook using his specialist spinner, Ali, in the same way.

The only reason he'll have to consider it is if his opening bowlers are bowling rubbish.

Lyon didn't need to faff around for that long.

That's the new ball for you. Just skids through a little quicker.

Am hoping this series will finally be the end of Ian Bell and we can start moving forward.

Dead pitch, average fast bowling, poor shot from Cook.

Looks from the scorecard as if ball is dominating bat!
Come on England, that's enough wickets for today.

They haven't even bowled well. Though I'd suggest many should have been wides, our batsmen would have needed extra long bats to reach a lot of them.

Root dropped second ball!

Bell out for 1 (and that one was a very ropey shot).

Capey made 80* last night.....
