Hooray!

Is it just me or does Hafeez seem to get out in the 90s quite a lot?

The nervous 90's does it for Hafeez. 173-2.

But neither has any other bowler.

Still your contention that form over 16 tests should be compared with 10 overs is fantastic.
I was also basing it on how they bowled on the limited overs stuff vs Oz when Moeen was much more economical. And the warm up games here etc. your massive issue with Moeen was that he could not control economy.

Re five wicket hauls. Moeen should probably have been dropped for not taking five wickets at Trent bridge. Definitely.

Does it? Bowlers will continue to try land just behind the line and risk the no-ball. I don't really get it.

It's bizarre. What difference does a couple of inches make? Stop sniggering.

How many did Bell's drop cost - was it 91? Big challenge for him to break even in this series now. I think he managed about 50 runs last time.

When they are apparently bowling a whole load of them before getting snared when they get a wicket denied because they were over the line suggests they do.

You are just being daft now.

Here's Moeen's 2015 TEST return

23 wickets from 10 tests at 46.4, best 51/3, economy 4.07.

Underwhelming at best.

100 for Malik. This has been a typical England on tour kind of a day. Looking forward to the batting collapse this time tomorrow...

And with the bat? IT IS THE COMPLETE CONTRIBUTION WE NEED UNLESS WE HAVE A BRILLIANT SPECIALIST.

Great bowling to a plan there. Well done cook and broad.

This is the spell for adil. He will pick up wickets to give us a chance with the new ball. Exciting

Imagine deciding that your front line spinner should be expected to bowl 20 overs plus a day and then open the batting. This is just daft isn't it? They all look shattered and the thought of opening the batting this time tomorrow must fill Moeen with glee. He should not really be opening anyway but after bowling about 40 overs in this heat. Nice

Misbah bit unlucky there as it seems he did not get the benefit of doubt... England back in the game.

The beauty of review system. That should probably have been given initially based on noise but over turning seems harsh. I suppose the right decision was made. Just about. I think. Possibly.

It's totally unreasonable. If he were a natural opener I could just about stomach it but it's both unfair on him as a batsman and almost certainly not best use of resources for the team. Presumably you agree with me that Root should open.
