Sixers' have an old fashioned line up. 5 batsman, a keeper & 5 bowlers. None of these bits n' pieces players or pivotal no.8's.

Seems to work quite well.

Probably moving the limited overs games in another direction. England are still catching up with the direction before last!

Henriques is an all-rounder, don't know why he didn't bowl today though.

Presume he's the insurance policy in case one of the 5 get carted. Definitely not required today.

Brilliant switch hit from kp. It meant the dot balls he patted back that over did not matter.

Re switch hit. Should it be banned? Imagine this scenario.

I am playing a team for the first time and go in with 4 runs needed and one ball left. The oppo have obviously not seen me before so I take a left handed guard. As the bowler enters his delivery stride I switch to my correct stance with the field set for a left hander. Is this cheating.

Perth have fantastic spirit in their side. I like them. Fingers crossed kp getting out allows stars to up the run rate.

Hope Carberry gets Man of the Match, no one could match his innings.

(despite just dropping a catch)

Top effort. The slow scoring of the stars top three through the whole cup was evident today.

Sorry. Been away and difficult to keep up with scorecards.

Does the leading run-scorer get a special colour cap like in the IPL?

If you are playing at the relatively low standard necessary for your theoretical scenario to be plausible (that is, one where teams don't research or know the basic details of opposition players) and have the ability to slog sweep your first ball to the boundary whilst wearing left handed gloves and a left handers' thighguard, I would say there is a tenable argument that your skill and chutzpah deserve to be rewarded rather than to be the object of opprobrium. I accept that others may disagree!

Have you run the bbl through the slogger matrix or whatever it is called? Doesn't that control for runs scored at a pedestrian pace which loses matches? Did you watch yesterday? I was getting angry with him patting balls back and then playing a miracle shot. He needs to watch Jonathan trott and rotate the strike better. The stars top three and their shocking strike rates cost me a good payout. Darn it.

My question would be whether a team would rather have someone averaging 42 at 123 or 39 at 137. I suspect I know the answer.

It is worth noting that one player in the top 12 batting averages had a worse strike rate. Boom boom kallis he is not.

The stars top three were probably cautious due to the knowledge of the total incompetence of their middle order. Slow sr or not, I think kp was top scorer in a number of victories for the stars. In the end its not strike rate or average that counts but matches won. I'd give KP a solid B for his bbl exploits. Pleased to see Carberry doing well too.

Haven't noticed but if so, the one wearing it would be Michael Klinger. Joint highest run scorer with KP but deemed #1 by this site.

Note the little orange cap icon.

And he has power to add, being in the final.

England need to learn from the BBL. We need to move finals day to a small provincial ground. I would suggest Derby or grace road would be perfect. Does anyone know why it is held at the tiny ground in Canberra? Is it to remove home pitch benefit?

Two t20 blast veterans mucking things up at the top is something that we appear to have exported quite well down under!
