All time England XI? Or all time world XI?

One of the better efforts, even if he was too modest to include himself at 6.

I suspect more will be made of the omission of his team-mate Cook, yet it was the absence of Gooch that surprised me. I suppose Ravi must have been too young to appreciate him.

Which Lara is going to come at 7? Is he referring to Brian Lara?

An England selector who appears stuck in the 90s.

Hell of a side though even if he's messed up the lower order batting.

Well either he and Afridi don't understand the concept of 'all-time' or they are limiting it to players in their own lifetime/seen play

And since Gooch, Greenidge, Richards, Healy, Marshall, Ambrose and Hadlee all played in the 80s I'd suggest it's more 80s than 90s, in fact only Healy and Ambrose continued to any great degree into the 90s of those seven IIRC, both starting late 80s and going on to around the same time of 99/00

I suppose it is better than seeing the same old same old with Bradman, Sobers etc, although somewhat surprised Sangakkara and Healy are the preferred keepers over say Gilchrist.

and Warner? Seriously?!?

Anyone want to try and build a brewers' XI?

So far I've got Jennings, Miller, Foster, Fuller and plenty of Robinsons.

Will Beer doesn't count.

There's a Truman brewery.

Also a Hastings Beer Co.

Tertius Bosch, played in SA's return test and died at the age of only 33.

A quick search suggests that the name John Smith did not augur well for cricketing success.

Not sure about the Rt Rev Lord David Sheppard Neame though...
