I tend to get more into sporting tournaments when England get knocked out. Less hype and subjective ranting about who should and shouldn't be playing, so the remaining matches can just be enjoyed for what they are. And they're usually more interesting contests....like today's so far.

Why was the semi-final played on a wicket completely alien to the wickets ODIs are played on in England?

I ****ing hate Cardiff.
A more pertinent set of questions would be:

Why did Pakistan bowl better than England?
Why did Pakistan bat better than England?

Those seem to be the primary reasons England lost.

Bangladesh increases pressure on themselves not rotating the strike enough and then gets out going for big shots.

Mahmadullah can bat, and Indian bowlers generally tend to wilt when batsmen go after them. If Bangla can score 300, they're in with a chance, though it will need a superlative bowling performance to shackle this Indian batting lineup.

Even by my pessimistic standards, it looks a bit tough for Bangla to score 300 or above now.

Cue Mahmadullah to play a blinder.

So me terrible shots by the bengalis but jadhav bowled better than anyone expected. I think the game could be tight if bang get 260 odd.

How good has Bumrah been! After that expensive first over, he's hardly let them score much off him while taking those wickets as well.

He had to, as Pandya continue to dish out trash in the name of bowling.

Bangladesh should aim for around 270, but I guess they'll probably end at around 260 now. India should not have too much difficulty in knocking those runs off, but I just hope that batsmen don't have the type of brain fade which Rohit Sharma had in our game against South Africa.

So, 265 for India to enter the finals. I'd expect the Indians to knock off these runs without much ado, but this is a SF and Bangladesh team thrives on adrenaline, so if they get an early breakthrough, it definitely would get interesting. They'll definitely try to be aggressive, but it needs to be seen if India will respond with calmness and a focus towards achieving the target with minimal damage.

Banga just about in it. Need a burst from Fizz and Taskin to make it interesting.

India's batting in the initial overs seem very 80s or 90s, aiming for something around 45 - 50 in the first 10 overs. We do have the firepower to make up for it in the later overs, though.

A steady confident start, but we still have some way to go. I'm surprised they don't open their bowling with either Taskin Ahmed or Robel Hossain.

When scoring runs, Rohit Sharma might be one of the most aesthetically pleasing batsmen around. Sadly, he doesn't do the run-scoring bit often enough.

India gonna breeze this it seems. Kinda shows one team won consistently and had to fight to get to the semis while the other won a solitary game.

Well, we did lose to SL which I expected us to win. While there is still some way to go in this match, this has been a very reassuring and positive start by Indians.

There's that teeny-weeny opening that Bangladesh would have been hoping for. Can they rile up Kohli to gift away his wicket? Can they knock over a couple of Indian wickets and make this more interesting? For my health's sake, I hope not.

That's what I mean. India had to fight their way through. They rebounded from the loss admirably, as fid Pakistan which is why we have two teams in the final who are the most deserving.

Apologies then, as I didn't get it.
