Strauss was the worst.

Mo with 1000 test runs and 98 test wickets. Not bad at all.

Broad's batting is comedy. Some lovely shots and then some stuff rabbits would be ashamed of.

61 wickets in the first 20 tests - If he'd kept that up then Dawson wouldn't be in the team.

Thanks for the correction MF. 150 for Mo today. Then we start to talk bowling. Get Bavuma and De Bruyn on soon.

Stu seems to have regressed to the Phil Tuffnell school of batting.

Rather rare for a player on a big overnight score to go on next day. For England anyway. Mo goes. Just started typing he was on for a ton. So even thinking it does him??

They may have thought it but it still happened. Ali gone for 87, sadly.

Just read this on Cricinfo commentary:

2000 Test runs for Moeen Ali. If he can pick up two wickets in this Test (his 38th) he'll be the 2nd fastest player to score 2000 runs & take 100 wickets for England. Tony Greig managed it in 37 Tests.

Surprised Botham wasn't faster.

Ian Bell was 181* overnight and went on to make his highest test score of 235 the next day. Eng v India 2011. And starting the next day with NWM Anderson, to boot.

Its so obvious looking at both his domestic record and his playing style that he is a proper batsman who can bowl adequately but no more than adequate (and indeed his bowling & batting stats are very similar at both FC & Test level).

Not his fault if his management was trying to shoehorn into a position he wasn't suited for because of a lack of alternatives.
