Trying to work out where Warwickshire's runs are going to come from next season, I'd imagine.

Well there is that but I thought he'd still like to be on here to say 'I told you so'!

Maybe he celebrated a bit too much and Mrs Kim has banned him from the PC as punishment.

You got that right.

This was the Tim I know and quite like (*big hug for Tim*). Pugnacious and agressive and murderous outside the off stump. His lack of height really causes bowlers problems - a partnership with Pietersen would drive them insane. Think he also showed how he could be a force in the one day game.

Ive now got all day to stress over 3 runs and then over every ball he has to keep. I hate it.

Mrs Kim is on a jaunt in sunny Grenada for two weeks with her mum while I dog sit my three Scotties in stormy Oswestry.

While this gives me unlimited PC access, Im not sure I'm on the right side of this particular deal, if I'm honest

I suppose it depends on how well you get on with your mother-in-law

Well as much as I hated Ambrose' attacking innings taking the game away from us, I have to credit to the way he played today. Despite numerous plays and misses , he played very positively from the start and took the game to the mighty NZ attack. As the NZ commentators mentioned he plays a lot like a miniature Ian Healy, cutting and hooking aggressively right from the get go. His short stature definitely helps him though in breaking up the bowlers line and length, normal short of a length balls that are difficult for most batsmen to play suddenly turn into into very cuttable or hookable deliveries with a shortarse like Ambrose at the crease. It took the NZ bowlers quite a while to adjust to the different length required to Ambrose and by then it was almost too late.

I know it is only a couple of test matches, but from what I have seen of Ambrose so far, he is head and shoulders above other recent England batsmen/keepers. If he wasn't playing against my team I would wish him well for his first test hundred tomorrow. However as it stands, I would prefer it if Jacob Oram clean bowled him for 97 first ball. Sorry if that sounds harsh but this is test cricket and there is just no room for sentiment I'm afraid.

I just hope he doesn't go the way of the previous England keeper- batsman who scored his first (and, as it turned out, only) ton against New Zealand.

Ambrose has been impressive so far but there have been too many false dawns on the keeper front for us to get excited just yet.

Agree. But a slight twinge of yippee when a player who is a wicket keeper first and foremost gets some runs may be in order?

Ive probably just ensured a nightmare behind the stumps for him.

My thoughts exactly. In some ways it might be beneficial to him in the long term if he gets out in the first over tonight.

I was very impressed with Ambrose. He really showed up the other batsmen by playing with a 'no fear' attitude and handled all the NZ bowlers very well. I think he will be around for quite a while. It will be interesting to see if they stick with Mustard as the one day keeper.

Split keepers as well as captains? Could happen but I can't see it myself

Maybe we could just have two different teams.

Tests - Cook, Key, Vaughan, Bell, Pietersen, Shah, Ambrose, Sidebottom, Hoggard, Tremlett and Panesar

ODIs - Trescothick, Mustard, Wright, Bopara, Collingwood, Flintoff, Mascarenhas, Swann, Broad, Plunkett, Anderson

I'd be happy for you to borrow Luke Sutton and Lancs can play Gareth Cross instead!

I'm only restraining myself because I went overboard about Prior.
