Looks set to retire after the World T20. A blow to Sri Lanka and another high quality spinner retiring. Very few left in the game now.

Sri Lanka have just secured a win over India in a T20 with an attack that looked well short of international class. Not sure how much can be read into this but maybe the Sri Lankans could be dark horses for the World T20.

They are defending champions, and are always resourceful in short form cricket.

I was well aware that the squad was a fair bit different, my point was is that they are usually a resourceful short format side and will have far less problems in producing good short form cricketers, unlike the longer form of the game. I see that they got bashed up today by India, but I would reckon that they would always fancy playing non Asian teams in Asia.

I don't think that is going to be their team for the World T20. As far as I'm aware they are yet to name their squad, they're probably just trying out some fringe players.

The cupboard looks bare though. I'm surprised Ford has taken on the job.

As expected, Mathews, Kulasekera, Herath and Malinga are in the World T20 squad. They're missing Jaya and Sanga but have Chandimal and Chameera looking like new top class players. I think they will do well in the tournament. There may be some up and coming players we aren't aware of as well and Ford fancies the job of rebuilding Sri Lanka post-Sangakkara.

Malinga looks as though he has been at the pies.

The way he bowls it would be quite easy to swallow a few.

Watching this performance from Sri Lanka is worrying for Test cricket. No fight, a lack of technique and no star quality.

Also note that with Bangladesh and the WI you can say they have a few T20 stars, but this Sri Lankan side looks short of those too. They haven't named their limited overs squad yet but I can't think of many players who will come in and make a difference.

Remains to be seen if this is a transition period or something more long term, but it is worrying for the game if another team goes on a downwards spiral.

Chandimal and Mathews have been disappointing and Chameera got injured. They just aren't cut out for playing over here in May. You can just tell they haven't got the fight to make up for lack of technique. They'd still probably do us in Sri Lanka.

Malinga back in the squad for the T20 series against Australia. Hadn't realised he had been injure for so long, hasn't played for Sri Lanka in a year. Hopefully he can stay fit.

Sri Lanka currently look like they will beat Bagladesh. Another big ton from Mendis. Could be a good finish as Bangladesh are doing well in their second innings, currently 63/0.

I doubt match might ends in draw with more rains on day 5 in forcast, but good to see Tharanga hits his test century in Srilanka, really good batsman but not finds his place regularly in srilankan team.

Luck with Chandimal in his unbeaten 50
