The hand of someone who may not be in authority in their own country but has a rather large say on international cricket, possibly?

The comments don't seem to be that controversial. Occurrences like these show the ECB and English cricket are ran much better than some people think.

Not really, unless you think that the WICB being an absolute danger to the game somehow makes the ECB good because despite being very bad in many respects it's not as terrible.

If you were a West Indies fan you really would have something to complain about when it comes to poor running of the game.

CDogg you may wish to read this. Yes there is certainly incompetence at the heart of the WICB and not least attributable to their current president. However at least some of their ills have been created elsewhere.

The blog that I have linked to earlier on this thread has much to say on this issue and you may wish to ponder some of what has been said there.

The way the ICC is governed isn't ideal. Australia, England and India having so much power was always going to cause problems. The WICB has been lurking from one disaster to another long before the new deal however.

That is making the assumption that before the new deal, the big 3 weren't disproportinately more powerful than the other boards - they were. I'll grant you that WICB have been a shambles for a very long time though, it is just that the schisms are exacerbated by money factors.

Simmons was notified of his suspension by email.

Dwayne Bravo and Pollard are in the 20/20 squad but not the ODI one.

Out of the Champions Trophy in 2017 as not in top 8.

Think it's balls that they decide now though.

West Indies officially out of the 2017 Champions Trophy in England. Not ranked in ICC top 8 at end of Sep. Bangladesh qualify instead.

Bad news for England - that's an opponent we haven't beaten in any format for five years.

About as retarded as the rugby world cup draw taking place in 2012.

Nice to see the Windies have some success in the U19 World Cup. I think there is a lot of hope for this generation and hopefully the WICB can sort itself out so they can make headlines on the field.

Some of the most well paid cricketers in the history of the game are West Indians currently playing, they just don't want to play for their country. There's still plenty of talent over there, it's just not being utilised.
