I just came here to report I'd seen that on the BBC sports ticker, only to find I'm two hours late.

More stirling work from Ijaz Butt, who surprisingly still has his job. Except nothing should be a surprise when it comes to the PCB.

He's said it's conditional. He'll never play under this board again. If the board changes he'll come back.

I heard on the radio that Bangladesh may tour Pakistan some time soon. It makes sense to start with another Muslim nation first. It would be a start, but I can't see anyone else going there in a hurry. I'd quite like to see them playing neutral Tests over here in England again but at one of the county grounds like Taunton and Bristol rather than the Test venues. I think the attraction of Test cricket being played in counties that don't normally have it would make a better turnout than when they played the Aussies over here.

But the UAE is as good as it's going to get for them for the time being, A) because it's only a short hop across the gulf to Karachi from there and B) as a consequence there many ex-pat Pak workers there. I would like them to be able to play at home because it will kill the development of cricket there to a certain extent, but I'm not best placed to know exactly when it would be right. If FK is around fill in there please squire!

According to the FTP, they're actually scheduled to play India away straight after England, presumably the Asia Cup has replaced that. Then it's Bangladesh at home (either in the UAE or in Pakistan), then away to Sri Lanka.

I see that Inzy is Pakistan's new batting consultant. I firstly misread it as 'betting consultant'........................

Anyway I hope he doesn't coach them about running between the wickets.

It looks as though Bangladesh have cancelled their brief tour to Pakistan that would have otherwise happened in April this year, due to their observation that it wouldn't be safe to do so.

Pakistan are suffering big time since events of the last decade. I left cricket because of the mess it was in around the time of the fixing scandal and the oval-Darrel hair drama.

Yes cricket will go on and the big nations will continue to fight it out at the top level, but a weak Pakistan does suck a big chunk out of cricket.

One country's misery is another's ecstasy and credit to Zimbabwe for their plans, their fight and their play.

Yes, despite the proliferation of good bowlers that continue to come out of Pakistan, the batting is a real worry and who knows if they can find replacements for Younis and Misbah. Other than Azhar, its as if none of the other batsmen to come in and out of the side have the stomach to bat for an innings.

A bit of a sad state- both the political isolation outside and the corruption inside Pakistani cricket are strangling the game there. One thing on the positive is that (I assume) Pakistan will always produce cricketers.

So likely to be able to play first class and domestic cricket a year for a year until his ban ends in Aug 2015.
