It's funny because at first he wasn't going to play in the BPL because Amir was playing in it. Then he changed his mind and the first time they meet Amir gets his wicket. I wonder if the wicket was about facing Amir the cheat or Amir the great bowler.

Some pretty disturbing news. Leg-spinner Yasir Shah provisionally suspended for taking a banned substance.

Who'd have thought it....

Mo Yo and Ramiz raja were suppose to debate Amir's return instead got into a huge personal spat

Raja: People with a beard should first of all stop lying.

Yousuf: A shameless person like you can only speak such things. You can only talk, because you have done nothing in cricket and you didn't know how to play. You should bring him before me as I want to see how big a player he was. You just have two centuries from 57 Tests. With just two centuries under your belt, don't you feel ashamed while speaking on cricket? You are nothing but an English teacher.
feel ashamed lying while keeping a beard?

Yousuf: I don't know anything. I just know how to play cricket and I talk about it. Do you know how to play cricket?

Raja: Whatever you have played, you have just spoilt Pakistan cricket.

ousuf: You are nothing but an English teacher.

Anchor (interrupts): I just wanted to know your views about the return of Mohammad Amir. Ramiz Bhai, how important would be it be for the team management to take Amir along with them?

Raja: See, first of all don't bring such cunning people when I am around.

Yousuf: You are cunning as you filed a case against your own family for property and money. I haven't seen a more shameless person than you in my life.

lol that was the translation from
Urdu to English from zee news .

Essentially, Ramiz Raja is staunchly against Mohammad Amir's return to international cricket - the biggest anti-Amir voice in the Pakistani media. Separately, he has a long-running feud with Mohammad Yousuf, whose post-cricket media has been characterized with a bitterness that could not contrast more with the elegance of his batting.

The television station in question no doubt knew fully well the enmity shared by the two men and the above followed - Yousuf defending Amir and making barely veiled references about Raja's not so flattering Test record (this occurred before the transcript above starts) and then Raja responding in kind (whilst I don't entirely blame him but pigs, wrestling and all that).

And I should hang my head in shame at this deep knowledge of aging ex-cricketers' soap operas.

Not at all, cg3, I'm impressed at your background knowledge, although as a cricket tragic myself, perhaps you shouldn't regard that as a good sign.

I have not had the benefit of reading this thread from start to finish but IMO Azhar and Hafeez are quite right - Amir is a cheat who not only cheated his country but his fellow players - I for one would not want to play in a side where one of my teamates had thrown a game or not played to thier best ability

Pakistani cricket is riddled with corruption

Salim Malik - I am banned from Cricinfo as this is an Asian funded base Salim you know me well and I know what you are........Happy New Year

Apparently Yasir Shah's ban is for 3 months and started from 27 December 2015. He will clearly miss the World T20 but will likely be around for the England tour later this year.

Waqar has produced a damning dossier on Pakistan cricket as he steps down as coach, one that would appear to have a bit more weight behind it than the ECB's Pietersen Diaries.

Anyhow, not much has escaped Waqar's anger as he's criticised the selectors, the players' fitness and work ethic, Afridi and Umar Akmal. He's also suggested that the number of sides in Pakistan domestic cricket should be cut to increase the standard.

As I commented elsewhere, there does appear to be a lack of talent coming through in Pakistan, especially among the batsmen. The game is balancing on a fine edge there currently I fear.

Doesn't Pakistani coaches/managers always produce damning dossiers after each of their disastrous campaigns?

Playing all their matches in the UAE won't help. It must have an effect on typo pullers of cricket in the country. Speaking of Afridi, is the any news of him quitting the international scene. Surely he won't be around in three years time for the next WC, so they should be looking to the future now.

Moores has turned down the coaching job. Just shows that he couldn't be as bad as some made out otherwise there would be no interest from other teams.

It shows very little and I'd rather judge him on his appalling record as England coach (twice).

He was sensible to turn it down, however.

I always find it strange nobody has gone for Flower. Took England to Number One in the Test rankings and the ODI rankings and won the T20 World Cup. No matter what happened in his final year, that is still an impressive cv.
