He was part of a Pak t20 franchise, however when he gave up the England coaching role it was at least partially because he didn't want to be away from his family as much as he was. Given that he did the (England) job for nearly 5 years he might not want to go through that again.

Flower also has a comfy role at Loughborough doesn't he? Maybe he'll go back into international coaching again when his family is older.

Pakistan players prepare for lots of homework coming up with the announcement of their new coach.

Hafeez Dropped for T2O vs WI in UAE

Dropped hafeez forever because ICC not clear him yet for bowling in test matches and he is total failure with bat in limited over matches.i think he just dropped vs 3 t20 vs WI

He's very useful at home/UAE and other places with similar dead pitches but about as much use as tits on a bull where the pitch actually does anything.

I found those matches quite good as a neutral mainly because neither side could seem to bat which was lucky considering the missed days otherwise it would have been two bore draws.

Ah Pakistan. They started off abysmally in the world t20, a slightly better Asia Cup and then the tour of England. What a high point it was for one of the top 2 or 3 test sides of this decade so far, followed up by comfortable victories in all formats against the WI. Since then it's been one horror show after another.

It's obvious that 2017 will see a Pakistan test side without Misbah and Younis and one where Shah will need to learn and evolve even more than he has so far in his short test career. On top of all that, Pakistan needs to turn their ODI side around if they are not to be embarrassed in the Champions trophy.

Alongside England, Pakistan probably have the most changes to make in their teams and set up.

It's remarkable a man as corrupt as him has such a high position within the cricketing infrastructure.

I personally believe cricket should never have been banned from Pakistan for more than a year. If Pakistan has security problems, they are no worse than those of any other so called 3rd world country that hosts international sports. Politics eh, watcha gonna do when politics run wild on you?!

I'd be very surprised if there is Test cricket in Pakistan ever again. It's a shame but the attack on the Sri Lankan bus will stick in players' minds for a long, long time.

But the situation in Pakistan is not unusual to a so called "developing nation" what it basically is, beyond the danger to players, is the politics and isolation of a nation for particular reasons. But I wont get into all that on a cricketing forum plus lots have positives with the psl.

Wasn't sure where to put this but there's a programme about Bob Woolmer on 5Live at 9.00pm, i.e. In a few minutes time, to mark the 10th anniversary of his death. Alison Mitchell presents it.

The young leggie looked impressive, but to be honest the Windies middle order were shocking with some ridiculous attempts at playing him.
