Bowling looks less impressive though, seen some of those guys on the IPL and although its obviously a different format, none were particularly impressive.
They did bowl the South Africa A twice to win the first unofficial test and has done reasonably well in the second as well. That said, I can't say I'm impressed with our future in bowling.

Interesting that India A are playing New Zealand A today in India, just two days after finishing a game against South Africa in South Africa...

As has long been predicted, BCCI reduce the number of games they are playing in SA. 2 tests and 3 ODIs.

From the outside this seems something of a farcical situation. Would be easy to pick on the BCCI over this, but Lorgat has few friends elsewhere I understand.

So apparently Indian cricket fans have been abusing Maria Sharapova for not knowing who Sachin is. NEWSFLASH: not everyone likes cricket, and in the non-cricket-playing world, he's a nobody. Eejits.

On the plus side, Indian cricket fanatics now know who Brand Sharapova is.

And tissue sales would be soaring if only she wasn't now public enemy number one, presumably with effigies of her being burnt all over the place.

Apparently she does know who Kevin Pietersen is, and is he said to have strong but un-broadcastable opinions about the nature of his character

Anger is forgotten quickly. Her face (and whatever else you're implying) not so much.

Most of these so-called cricket fans would struggle to name the Indian hockey or football captain. They won't be able to name India's Davis Cup team. They sure won't be able to name superstars from most other sports. Quite embarrassing, really.

Grade A: Dhoni, Kohli, Raina, Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar

Raina not Pujara?

That's some promotion for Kumar overtaking Ishant Sharma.

Well, we're seeing why. Ishant, for all the matches he's played thus far, is still someone I won't be very sure of. There are times when he looks great but he can immediately look utter tripe as well. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar has looked quite good with his limited abilities.

Over the last year

Raina 17 ODIs 539 ODI runs at 38.50 - I don't think that is worth Category A when he is not playing Tests.

It just proves my point on how unreliable Ishant is. He's gotten better but he still isn't good. The less spoken about our batsmen, the better.

Sad news from India where a talented young Bengali cricketer Ankit Keshri died after a collision in the field with a teammate. He was twenty years old.

Quite sad indeed especially as he had come in as a substitute fielder just a few minutes before the tragedy occurred.

india wooble vs zimbabwe at Harare, july 10, 2015

India under pressure 5 down , only 87 runs on board.
Rahane 34.Rayudu 38 n.o.
India's top 4 batsman Vijay, tiwary, utapha, kedar jadhav scored 9 runs between them.

Still 25 overs remains with Binny, herbhajan, kumar, patel still to bat, who are good batsman too.
Zim,Winning toss, put India inn, plenty of moisture on surface, by the time zimbabwean bat, wicket will be nice and dry.
