Spot the players who are in contention for the test team and spot the ones who aren't!

Minus Cook of course who hasn't had to deal with the one day stuff, in fact he will have had nearly 3 months away from competitive cricket, although I suspect he's long since been training again.

Morgan only playing one CC match should rule him out of contention from the Test team.

Has KP got a county?

I thought his arrangement at the end of last season was a temporary one.

So it's only Collingwood, Pietersen and Strauss who haven't played out of the batsmen. Cook has played a reasonable number of games due to not being in the one day set-up.

Cheers for that. So he's played a reasonable number of times after being out of the ODIXI.

After being out of the ODI side for 2008 and missing the Bangladesh series in 2010 he played in all the ODIs.

My point was that he's played a reasonable number of FC games. I have not included the bowlers in making much of a judgement, they are more likely to carry injuries that need careful managment away from test matches, which is why the bowlers who have been involved all winter are away from action the longest in this break. I think some of the batsmen are back in a couple of weeks time, the bowlers have a couple of weeks extra.

It's hard to tell as so many players have injuries. The players who have played in the Ashes and ODIs start at the beginning of May, Trott, Bell, Strauss, Anderson, Broad, Prior and Bresnan.

So, Lumb Hales Broad Patel Swann unavailable for a possible championship decider against Warwickshire who have Bell, Trott and Woakes available? Good job no-one from Warwickshire's coaching staff has any say in that.

Surely Bresnan should've been made available to Yorkshire for the 20/20 Finals day!

I wonder if he is being 'managed'. Like Broad he was very much down on pace in the test series and I wonder if he was having problems in that regard, even though he was dropped for the last test. Otherwise it makes no sense that Bairstow plays and he doesn't.

They've clarified the position on Bresnan now - a late decision will be made after the ODI as to whether he'll play.
