Exactly. And Lanashire should wait another year or so, until he retires. "Anderson bowling from the Anderson end" just lacks all modesty, decorum and dignity.

And there is no comparison with Statham, who took more than 1800 wkts for Lancs. How many wkts has Anderson taken for the county he hardly ever plays for - 200, maybe 250?

When Kent named the Knott-Underwood Stand at Canterbury, both had been retired for 20-25 years, which seemed like a decent and dignified lapse of time.

Can we look forward in the next year or two to the Ben Stokes Riverside Ground, the Stuart Broad Trent Bridge Pavilion, the Gary Ballance Bogs at Headingley and the entire town of Chelmsford being renamed Cook's Manor?

Simon Kerrigan loaned out for 4 day cricket at Northamptonshire.

Wonder if he remains available to play T20 at Arundel later this week, to play for the side he has been captaining so far this season.

At present the Lancs 2nd XI are playing the Durham 2nd XI.

Hameed 0 from 11 balls and then rain.

James Taylor, the former Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and England batsman, will speak to the players when they gather in Loughborough on Monday, and the cricket will be watched by a number of England’s lead coaches as well as Young Lions selectors and scouts, raising the stakes for the players involved.

Hameed lbw for 19

Karl Brown can't even get a red ball game for the 2s?

Anyone go to the Members Forum tonight? Four hours after play was abandoned and brought forward an hour so likely too early for most of those at work?

@LancsCCC
STAT: @aldavies23 has now reached 1,000 first-class runs this season and is 1st wicketkeeper to score 1,000 f-c runs for Lancs in a season!

Have we had a wicket-keeper opening the batting before? Hope he carries in that position.

Big change with Liam Livingstone coming in as Captain and Croft dropped out. Allott flexing his muscles as new DofC or just a change of the OldGuard for the new?

And now the return of Faulkner. I like the fact that Lancs seem to be getting things lined up early enough in pre-season. Still think it'll be difficult to maintain the County Championship push next season but this should at least help to address the decline in white ball performance over the last two seasons.

Allott's appointment had passed me by.

I'm usually a bit cynical of people going from a media role to a management role but he wouldn't have been the first former Lancastrian and England player to return to his county and oversee unimaginable success.

I will be going to the game in Southport in August, what's the ground like?
And is it likely to be well attended?

It can be very well attended. Last time I was there, they probably closed the gates. There was very little, if any, space left around the boundary for more seats.

The banner image and pinned tweet may give you some idea what the ground looks like:

I assume you’ll be playing proper opposition for most of the summer? Always good to have a nice confidence boost though!

good to see Matthew Dunn back in action - hasn't he been injured for most of the last couple of years

Croft would be a step backwards. Not much experience in that 11, Parry would be the only sensible alternative.

Looks like a good win for Lancs. Clark seems to like playing against Surrey.

anyone heard / read anything other than:

"The England management have yet to make a decision on the early-season availability of Jimmy Anderson for Lancashire."

the 'early-season' may be finished before they make a decision.

Not in the Lancs squad photo so I would guess he is on holiday at the moment and getting some family time. Most schools are back next week so we might find out soon when he is due back playing.
