He came out to bat again at No11 in the second innings in a lost cause so I suspect it was just a case of easing him in.

Melbourne Stars
A ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) has been received by the Melbourne Stars from the English Cricket Board and Pietersen is clear to play for the Stars.

Despite no longer being contracted to England, he did require a no-objection certificate from his home country board to play for the Stars under ICC Regulations.

If any counties are looking for a spinner (which many often are) then surely they could do worse than take a punt on this man:

http://www.espncricinfo.com/pro50-20...er/295397.html

Currently playing in Zinmbabwe, he now has a first-class bowling average of 10, and seems to have been almost unplayable when bowling for Herefordshire last summer.

Strange Glamorgan let him go without a first team game.

Very good shout. He's got 84 wickets at an average of 20 in the Minor Counties Championship and now 31 wickets at 10.25 in just 4 first-class games in Zimbabwe, which even allowing for it being a relatively poor standard is very impressive. I seem to remember him being talked of as a batting all-rounder at Glamorgan - seems very strange that he's not popped up anywhere else yet.
