Although playing a few franchise T20s probably isn't going to wear you out too much. It's only a big issue if it clashes with other cricket or makes for an extremely full programme for them.

If I had a T20 franchise I wouldn't let Bresnan or Anderson any where near it. Neither much good as a limited overs bowler.

Chance of these players playing overseas ..

Eight Kent cricketers have applied to play in the Bangladesh Premier League next month.

Darren Stevens, Joe Denly, James Tredwell, Alex Blake, Matt Coles, Adam Riley, Sam Billings and Mitch Claydon are among 196 overseas players included in the player list.

The player auction takes place on Monday 26 October with each of the six franchises able to recruit up to 12 overseas players but only four can play in each matchday XI.

In total 53 England players

Players are graded A-D with A being the highest.

There's only one English player amongst the 19 worth an A grade alongside the usual guns for hire like Andre Russell, Darren Sammy, Richard Levi, Wahab Riaz etc

Rovi (sic) Bopara All Rounder A Full

Half a dozen are graded B though

Paul Collingwood All Rounder B AVAILABLE FROM Dec 1 (after Pak v Eng series)
Mark Pettini Batsman B Full
Chris Jordan All Rounder B Full
Jade Dernbach Seamer B Full
James Tredwell Batsman B Withdrew
Samit Patel All Rounder B Full

Some seem to rate their batting more than I do.

31. Simon Jones All Rounder C
48. Luke Jack Fletcher All Rounder D Full

David Wiley is going to be in the Big Bash, missing some England experience. Should he be putting England first. Interesting comment from Andrew Strauss

Yes, he should put England first and play the Big Bash instead of for the Lions.

Is Darren Stevens old enough to be a Victorian?

Must be close.

Bang Prem Lge chaos. Ravi Bopara & Josh Cobb didn't have non-objection certificates, excluded from XI, then given NOCs, so included = row

Probably 20 currently contracted county cricketers involved in Masters cricket series in January:

http://www.espncricinfo.com/uae/cont...ry/949869.html

How does that work?

Zaidi ought to have been man of the tournament, assuming there was one. Sangakkara was rather good too, unsurprisingly. Ravi's bowling was excellent, his batting less so. Wasn't a high scoring event though. I suspect the Big Bash will average about 30 more runs per innings.

I don't think we have many English players in the Big Bash. Carberry, KP, Wright, Willey and Rashid compared to 13 last time.

So far

Pietersen - Melbourne Stars - 2 matches 98 runs at 49.00 s/r 166.10
Lumb - Sidney Sixers - 4 matches 116 runs at 29.00 s/r 150.64
Rashid - Adelaide Strikers - 3 matches 27 runs at 27.00 s/r 135.00 4 wickets at 21.75 econ 7.25
Wright - Melbourne Stars - 3 matches 39 runs at 13.00 s/r 92.85
Willey - Perth Scorchers - 2 games 2 runs at 2.00 s/r 40.00 3 wickets at 13.00 econ 4.87
Carberry - Perth Scorchers - 2 games 5 runs at 5.00

There was and he was.

Darren Stevens now has three BPL titles to go with his two English T20 successes.

Acted as a lucky mascot at least. Actually, in his defence, he did bowl very effectively in the final.

There really is a lot of T20 cricket in a year now, isn't there? Think it must average about a game a day, if not even more.
