The fact that we were left out of the floodlit cup would suggest that it is very much a mickey mouse competition.

Some 80plus Sussex member I spoke to at Hove last year ranted and raved about the pointlessness of it.

Will this mean he'll be out of contention for England one-day selection? If so, Harmison has done England his most wondrous service to date.

Sussex v Cardiff University

Brown+, Sharif, Smith, Liddle, Thornely, Aga, Wright, Hopkinson, Nash*, Rayner, AN Other

we might actually get beaten with that side. Never heard of Aga in my life, Kenyan apparently. I would have thought it would have been a good idea to give Goodwin, Adams and Prior a knock to get in some form

I've heard Aga is a bit of a slow burner. Any truth in that rumour?

I heard he's got the flu. Imran Narif I have absolutely no idea, he's probably the coach driver or something we're that low on players. I don't know why Vinter isn't playing. Our young batting prodigy Matt Machan is taking his GCSEs so Vinter might be doing A levels or something

Whoever Imran Arif is, he currently has figures of 4 overs, 4 maidens and 2 wickets

Saqlain is currently in the Sussex 2nds. Alas, after 30 overs the only wickets he had to show for it were bowlers James Lee and Nick Thornicoft. Probably the conditions

god Carl Hopkinson couldn't even get a bat in the 2nds First Innings. I didn't know 2nd XI matches were twelve aside. Part of me hopes Saqlain isn't a success so that Smith and Rayner can get proper opportunities

Wright seems a very good bat in the twenty20.

Your Pakistani spinners make a very good double act it appears.

indeed on both counts. I don't know what the situation regarding overseas players will mean for next season, whether this could be Mushy's swansong while Saqlain takes over from him with Rana as overseas player. Wouldn't rule out Mushy becoming spin coach for Moores

ffs another game against the touring teams. We've apparently given the chairman's son a game in this one Pretty pointless exercise

and it's unbelievably sunny again today

terrific performance by Sussex yesterday, great stuff from Kirtley, Rana and the spinners. Can't wait for finals day, only wish I could go

He's had a couple of games for the seconds recently, with one decent bowling return.

Incase anyone is interested.....

There have been a few £ 40 tickets just released from the Edgbaston Ticket Office for the Twenty20 Finals Day at Edgbaston on Saturday August 4th. These are due to additional seats and not club allocated tickets.

The Ticket Office number is 0870 062 1902
