I don't think we'll be missing all three at once at many points. Broad and Swann probably won't play many Tests next summer (the latter in particular).

Don't forget AJ Harris either from that list.

Any good seamers available this winter? Masters would have been a good one to pick up...

Do Notts need another seamer? You have Sidebottom, Broad, Shreck, Ealham, Harris, Franks, Footitt and Clough which is two more seamers than Sussex had last year.

Probably not. But I know we're after one. Mainly because we were so hamstrung by injuries last year, I guess. If we were minus Sibo and Broad, say, a couple of injuries would leave us down to the bare bones and looking at loans again. Still, hopefully lightning doesn't strike twice - that would be desperately unlucky.

It would be better to give another youngster a chance, but apart from the underused Footitt I can't think of anyone else coming through the ranks.

I'm not sure if Newell really trusts Footitt. I'd really like him to have a long run in the side - but he doesn't have a great fitness record, which may be what's holding him back. His stats aren't at all bad, gets wickets, just a little expensive.

Completely agree. Such a shame he was injured last season, it could have been a major breakthrough for him. Hope he doesn't have to leave to get the opportunities that his talent would seem to deserve.

Judging by the injuries last year, yes.

Ealham is 38 so he'll pick up a few here and there, Footitt doesn't have a great fitness record, Sidebottom and Broad may be away with England a lot and Clough might not cut it in LVCC1...

Clough doesn't really cut it in LVCC2. He's a useful one-day player, but that's about all.

Are Notts ever going to sort their ticket office situation out? Have so far spent yet another fruitless hour on the phone/pc attempting to get tickets for next year's Internationals.

Right royal pain in the arse are the words that come to mind.

I thought they might have endeavoured to have tried to make things better after all the complaints that they recieved last year.

Oh well looks like I'll be spending another few hours yet.

Finally got them at 12.10 this morning after a marathon 2hrs40 pressing redial on my phone and pressing refresh on my comp.

A slight improvement on last years 4 hours extravaganza.

Absolutely exhausted after that.

*slumps*

How on Earth did you manage that? Every time I got near the payment screen it refused to accept the details and then finally threw me back to the queueing screen...

There were a few of us trying and we were all getting the same probs.

When did you try? Surely not half 9 this morning??

Yes I did. I'm in the Radcliffe Rd Lower on Thursday, Fox Rd Stand on Friday and The New Stand on Saturday.
