I really hope so. I think he knew that plenty of us thought the world of him and he loved the banter on here, which is why he kept coming back. The fact is that he wasn't only 'our' Kim as he was on so many other fora, but a guy who was around for nigh on 7 years or so on this and the previous board that we had he was certainly one of ours. |

I just noticed this thread and can't believe that Kim is gone. I will remember Kim as someone always well-informed and with an interesting perspective. Someone who actively contributed to making this message board one of the most rewarding and humourous places to hang out. Kim, RIP.

I dreamed about Kim last night. A crickety dream.
I was supposed to be scoring the match. Shane Watson was among the players on the fielding side. Before the match started, beefcake Watson was beyond the boundary on the other side of the pitch from me, throwing massive catches to me over the whole playing area. Naturally I took every catch, whatever the ball's size or colour. I was supposed to be scoring, but a few balls into the match it became clear that I would have to umpire too, so I took to the field, taking the scorebook and a raised chair to sit on. Kim was bowling the first over. Right-arm round the wicket, to a right-handed batsman. Kim was small, compact, middle-aged, and brown from the sun, and he chuntered to himself as he went about his business. He was running (more like dancing) in from my left, in between me and the stumps. I had to shift the chair back to make more room for him. I wrote dot, four, dot, dot, dot, dot, in blue biro. The four was a handsome on-drive. Kim was bowling slow flighted floaters, like lazy snakes wiggling first one way and then the other way in the air. I praised his technique. There was a problem, though, because although this was the first over, there had been 20 runs already scored, and I had to find some way of fitting them in, but it didn't make sense. When I woke up, my bedmate had reduced me to a few small inches at the edge of the bed, and was roasting my legs (when asleep she assumes the temperature of the heart of the sun). I lay there for some time, farting out the gases created by last night's dal, thinking about Kim, and then about what it was like at my mum and dad's house at Christmas, back in the day. |

You seem to have very vivid dreams and clear recollections of them, Sans, I envy that.

That will cheer him up as he watches Bradman approached his 200 with a clipped 4 off Jim Laker up in heaven |

Nice, thanks.
I like how the journo gave Warwks 9.5/10. Not much room for higher marks had they won any more trophies!
