Another classy knock by Vince last night. I wonder if he'll get another go in limited over internationals?

I did enjoy the terrible not out decision towards the end of the chase after a Vince edged behind. It was along the lines of

Bowler "how is that not out?"
Umpire "Cause they need six runs to win and I'm looking forward to getting home early"

If the bowler was a seamer, there may also have been some attempt to preserve the situation whereby every wicket in the game was taken by a spinner (Dawson, Crane, Afridi, Ingram). Did anyone here bet on that?

Were you umpiring?

He was also clearly out lbw to Ingram earlier on too. Both umpires decided they enjoyed watching him bat too much.

Lancashire seamers (McLaren, Junaid, Clark in this match) do seem to regularly go round the park. Time to try plan B?

Can't understand opening the bowling with a spinner. Rafiq 1-0-21-0. Another game Qayyum 1-0-15-0.

Sammy has generally done well opening up.

If you only took any notice of the disastrous overs you wouldn't understand opening the bowling with a seamer either.

Just watching the last half of Derbyshire's batting innings chasing 162. When I started watching Durham looked in control with Derbys needing about 10 an over and struggling to keep up with the rate.

The Durham bowling and fielding has been abysmal. No surprise they are bottom of the table. The fielding is especially poor and Keaton Jennings is
one of the worst I've seen. No-balls, wides, dropped catches, failing to stop balls rolling to the boundary.

Derbyshire have also looked very nervous as they have something to lose.

Derbys now doing their best to throw it away, with only 3 needed.

.4 balls left. Still 2 runs needed. 7th wicket down.

And there it is. Derbyshire win by 3 wickets. Nail biting game for all the wrong reasons.

Pretty incredible that with two rounds of matches to go, all 9 teams in the South group can still potentially qualify. It's so tight that Kent, currently bottom, could still feasibly claim a hone quarter-final if results and goal-difference go the right way.

A pretty alien situation for this club to be in. It was a clunky performance, particularly the back end of Durham's innings and the obvious stutter over the line - in many ways both of those factors were influenced by Wilson being away on international duty.

Hopefully one more win will secure a rare adventure outside the group stage and who knows maybe a home quarter-final.

I thought Daryn Smit came across very well - not just cool at the end but very sensible and smart in the interviews before and after the game.

Certainly Lancashire's loss is very much Derbyshire's gain. A very assured innings last night. If Derbyshire qualify and he keeps putting in these performances he could be in with a shout for the England T20 squad next month.

There should be a few embarrassed faces within the Old Trafford hierarchy, but I suspect there won't be. Even on the few times Luis Reece was selected for a T20 game they batted him at 7 or 8 and asked him to bowl, as that was what they told him he was selected for.

His face did not fit with Lancs' plan A, and I am yet to be convinced they have a plan B. The only selectorial decision they've made this year in T20 is to belatedly switch to Parkinson after he was not their first choice in the first three matches. Other than that the only changes have been to cover for injury/illness and the late arrival of Junaid.
