So Moxon has been confirmed and Grayson didn't even get a look-in as Dews gets a promotion, some continuity there. Does anyone know who will act as Academy Director or will that come under Dews' new remit?

Paul Shaw. He's been snapped up by the ECB Academy, I'm afraid

Yorkshire should have picked up Buchanan.

With him quoting Sun Tzu and Goughie lighting his own farts, you'd have all the bases pretty much covered.

Looks like the Mighty Boof would like to throw his not inconsiderable weight behind the 'resurgent' Yorkies, and cheer up his Missus by letting 'er indoors loose in Harvey Nicks again.

Will Darren Lehmann be one of our coaches next year?

An aside from the games yesterday - Ireland dumping Pak out of the Cup means that Younus will be available far earlier than expected. Interesting what happens, whether we stick with Elliott (who has been in awful, woeful, possibly retirement-inducing form for South Australia) or go for Younus. Depends on the contracts involved, I suspect

That's hardly important, compared to Elliott's form.

Ah, but you know the script, they come over here, take our women - and kic-start their careers...

Although my first thought was 'Yay, we get him early', it might not be the best course of action to rush him in. In the few pictures on cricinfo, he and the rest of the Pakistan team cut forlorn figures. They've had a very busy itinerary, and the events of the past few days will have hit them hard. Let him have the time out, have a rest, get married and say goodbye to Bob.

There's no problem with his signing, but with Pakistan out of the Cup, he's available far earlier than expected. Seems like he's set to join us before the start of the first game.

Confirmed... http://www.yorkshireccc.com/news/younuslatest

and:

"Stewart, who is in negotiations with Elliott and trying to fix him up with another county, said: "It is very good news that Younus can join us earlier than expected, and it is our preferred option.

"But we want to do right by Matthew, who had been looking forward to meeting up with some of his Yorkshire team-mates during his previous stint in the latter part of the 2002 season."

Blimey... Any counties out there in need of an Ocker batsman?

Wait a minute. The Pakistan team might end up being stuck in the Windies for a while. Elliot had better start packing again.

Elliott's signed for Glamorgan for the first few weeks of the season. The ECB have also ratified Rudolph's move here.

the Rudolph move sticks in the throat. Unless he's actually been told he's got no chance of ever being selected for the Saffers again, this is a breach of the spirit of which the signings of Kolpakers is for as he's clearly there to try and boost his form and thus prospects of getting back into their test side.

I chuckled at the stuff I've bolded out.

Ho ho ho...
