Yes - they replaced Boof, a run machine against any attack, and Lumb, who scored a good century against Warne last year (although admittedly not much else).

Have to say that I can't wait for the game to begin. I won't see much of Wednesday's play, but I am really hopeful of not missing much of the rest!

Reckon Hampshire will win, both the game & the title.

Think the toss could be crucial in the game.

And I'm going to be able to watch almost all of the rest of it... blissful sigh....

Lucky you, didn't get the time off to go today?

Yorkshire just lost a couple of quick wickets, Khan & Rashid.

I'd like to know what kind of style Rashid has with the bat.

No idea what his style is but its a mighty impressive start to the season with both bat and ball.

I am looking forward to seeing him bowl today - Gough even used him for a couple of overs last night which was bold, but probably too early and he was a little expensive.

I am beginning to think this lad might well be challenging Monty soon.

It will be interesting to see Mark Lawson's progress following Rashid's good start.

The very idea of two good young legspinners in England would have been laughed at 10 years ago. Now we might even have them bowling in tandem for Yorks.

Perhaps in the one day side? His batting is clearly rated if they are already putting him in before Bresnan.

In hisfirst game against Warwick last season Adil was actually picked as a batsman , didn't get many runs but took 6 wickets in the 2nd innings. The rest is history.

Personally I hope that England leave Rashid at Yorks for ayear or 2. Rashid hasn't yet played for a full season & has never had a failure. As every cricketer goes through a 'bad time' I'd rather Adil had it with Yorks rather than under the England mircoscope.

We don't want Rashid to go down the same road as poor Richard Dawson. In my opinion Dawson has never recovered from the mauling he got from Australia on the 2002/3 Ashes tour. I for one hope Richard recovers his form at Northants.

His bowling is likely to be far more suited to tests than ODIs though, both from his stats so far and from the fact that leg spinners tend not to have a great time in limited overs cricket.

Given that he's going to be selected as test captain (and presumably number 3 batsman) anyway, I think we'll all be a lot happier about things if he's scored plenty of runs by then.

This game isn't going according to plan at all - 147/1 by Hampshire and looking steady as a rock.

To be fair, it was the kind of injury that could have happened to anyone. Clark was bowling very fast and I guess it's hard to get your hand out of the way at the last minute (especially if you're Mr Clumsy!). However at the stage of the game, if it was swelling up then there was no point in him not coming off and packing the finger in ice - he can always bat tomorrow if it isn't broken.

Having said that, he did appear stiff especially during the morning session (lots of stretches) although he was leaping around in the field like a youngster. However Gough didn't bowl him (when conditions would have been perfect for him with the wind coming from the northern end) and relegated him to the boundary after tea.

Bresnan bowled pretty well, as did Dizzy (figures don't do him justice). Gough got tonked and conditions weren't wildly helpful to Rashid.
